Every year, March 8 is celebrated as International Women’s Day, a day set aside to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women despite divisions and persisting boundaries.

This year, the goal is to create a gender-equal world. It is about celebrating a woman’s success and raising awareness against bias. ”Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow”; is this year’s theme for International Women’s Day.

According to UN Women, the year 2022 is ”pivotal for achieving gender equality”. “Women leaders and women’s organizations have demonstrated their skills, knowledge and networks to effectively lead in COVID-19 response and recovery efforts.

Today there is more acceptance than ever before that women bring different experiences, perspectives, and skills to the table, and make irreplaceable contributions to decisions, policies, and laws that work better for all.” UN women indicate. Women are constantly reminded of the disproportionalities they face through everyday activities; however, they need to be reminded of their power as well in order to adequately fight gender inequality.
